This walk is an adapted version of the Felbrigg church & ice house walk provided on the National Trust website. I actually set out to do this walk, but decided on a minor route change. The route combines some of the published walking routes on the notice board in the National Trust car park.
The walk is on mostly good paths or fields, but may be slippery and muddy if there has been recent rain, especially in Autumn when leaves are on the ground. We completed this walk in October, and it was a little wet with leaves on the ground; the paths were fine. But prepare to get muddy shoes.

The Route
📍Start Point

🧭The Route
1Felbrigg National Trust Car Park to St Margaret’s Church
From the noticeboard at the main car park, with the hall ahead and slightly to the right, take the first left-hand surfaced path and go through the iron gate, following the track to the church.
2St Margaret’s Church to Field Boundary
Go through the small gate beside the churchyard wall and follow the path across the field to the right. Ignore the stile and large field gate straight ahead and go to the right of the group of trees. Go through the kissing gate and then across the corner of the field, a short distance to the next kissing gate.
3Field Boundary to Boundary Walk
Turn right after passing through the second kissing gate and proceed down the hill towards the lake. Go through the gate and along the path beside the lake. At the end of the lake, turn right onto the path through the woods. The route skirts around the lake, with the lake on your right,
4Boundary Walk to CarPark and Main Track
At the path junction, turn left to stay in the woods and follow the track.
5Main Track to Ice House
At the road, turn left towards the white painted house, but before you reach it, turn right into the woods by a marker post and the Corstorphine Sycamore tree, on the left.

6Ice House to Victory ‘V’
From here, follow the track round to the right, up a slope, passing the ice house. Just after the ice house, turn right and continue on the path.
7Victory ‘V’ to the Main House and Car Park
When you reach the Victory ‘V’, take the left ‘arm’ and walk down slope to the car park at the end.
