A good walk does not need to be a long walk and if even better when you are enjoying the stroll with your dog. This is a lovely walk taking in the beautiful Ayrshire beachfront and Bellieisle Park.

This gentle stroll makes for an excellent dog walk at any time of day or year, with mostly paved and good paths. Some muddy area if wet in wooded areas, other than that. With a distance just over 3 miles, not too long and not too short.

Walk Details

Heading out from seafield carpark you have the option of taking the promanade for a nic eoaved route or via the beach which is. a must if you a with your dog.

Towards the end of the proamade you will reach a footbridge, turn left and follow the parth along the River Doon.

Upon reaching the road (old racecourse road), you will find a convenience store and an excellent cafe, The Secret Garden. I highly recommend you stop for a coffee and perhaps try some their delicious cake.

Cross the road and tale the first left into Bellise Park and follow the road following signes for Stables Cafe. Another good place for a stop, decent view out over the gold course.

Continue past the cafe following the road which turn in a track and crosses a stream before crossing two fairways of the golf course. Watch out for gold balls!

Head towards the wooded area on the other side and follow the footpath within along side a stone wall. The path leads onto the playing fields Take any route you wish or let your dog have a run a round. Head towards the bottom right corner when there is a gate onto the traffic lights and cross the road.

Opposite is the Chestnuts Hotel and Restaurant. A cheeky pint? Why not.

Homeward bound, follow the road towards seafield and you’ll be back at your car.
